Mentor: Ross Squire
Ross Squire joined Traditional Surfcasters in 2007 and is living proof of the effectiveness of our Mentoring Program. Since joining the club Ross has consistently placed in the Top 3 categories of our Intraclub competition and is a frequent Top 20 Angler in the New York Surf Fishing Contest (NYSFC), most recently finishing in the Top 10 in 2014.
Ross is an active member of the surfcasting community. He is member of the NY State Parks Fish Advisory Board, is currently serving as the Contest Chairman of the NYSFC and founded the 1@32 Pledge which encourages and promotes striped bass conservation.
As a self-avowed surfcasting addict, Ross credits much of his fishing success to the club's mentoring program. He believes firmly that successful surfcasting involves a strong commitment to lifelong learning and a desire to continually push your individual standards of success.
